2008 M8 Hood

Can anyone tell me what the 2008 M8 hoods are made of? I'm looking to plastic weld it and trying to figure out which rods to use. Are they made of TPO perhaps???

well it aint plastic its fibreglass,plastic weld wont work tried it on my 06 m7 held for about a day.

The new hoods are plastic not fiberglass they are a mold injected plastic same as a car bumper. Not sure what rod you would use but I had my 09 m8 done at the body shop they said they used a glue. Don;t know if that will help.

I'm a 20 year autobody tech and have welded lot's of cat hoods, they are definetly TPO

I used 5 min plastic epoxy from auto store and glass mat. It's holding strong.

Plastic welded it with fiber flex rod and it was easy to fix and is holding strong!
