I have an '08 Griz 700, my problem is that it is pushing rear dif oil up through the breather up by the air intake. The dif isn't overfull, I have pulled the line off and blown it out clean. Moved the line ,thinking that maybe it was creating a vacuum being that close to the air intake. But it's still pulling oil up and making a mess of the battery and fuses. It's been doing this from day 1 off the showroom floor, I've taken it in a couple of times to the dealer, but they can't figure it out either. Anybody else have this issue? Ideas?

Thanks

Could be a few things,..

1.Over filled rear diff
2.Water contamination boiling out
3.Your wet brake is adjusted to much overheating your oil

1. Oil Level has been checked and is good
2. No Water Contamination.
3. This could be a possibility...How do you adjust the wet brake? I wasn't aware of this, but this could be definitely be something to look into. After I moved the breather line and it kept doing it, I was thinking it might be a heat issue to push the oil up that far, but couldn't figure out why the diff would heat up.
Thanks again :)

grizz has disc brakes on each wheel..no brake in the rear diff..Kawi had that.

I would drain the oil,,,,remove the plug on the side of the rear diff,,,,,thats the hole that you fill UP to....when the oil comes out of the hole it is full,,,you dont fill it untill it comes out the fill plug.
Sounds to me like it is overfull,,,

I'll give that a try when the snow clears, I haven't drained it before, I just checked the levels and the dealer did the same and said it was where it was supposed to be at. I'll drain it and clean the line out again and start from scratch, can't hurt anything, that's for sure...Thanks :)
Ya I got confused there I was thinking of a Kawi

That's a relief! I thought that they had snuck something in there that I hadn't heard of before :d

Could it be the wrong oil in there. Not heavy enough of a oil and heating up faster thus moving up the hose. Just an idea but you would think the dealer installed the right oil day one.

Mine did that with water in it. Drain and refill, you may have to do this more than once also when drained try blowing air through the vent line while still connected to the diff. In the end you might have to move the vent line so it does not make a mess. One other thing you can try is the bellows system like Can Am and Suzuki use on their diffs (not sure who else).

If you are going to drain and check,.. I would throw some Amsoil 75w-90 synthetic in as a replacement,.. it cooled down my rhino diff's substantially.

You bet, I only use synthetic in my toys...peace of mind for the extra few bucks.
Once I pull my plow off, I'll haul it to our shop and drain and clean it.
Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it. :)
