Can anyone tell me the optimum RPM for my Summit 1000 in the mountains pulling a hill? I have heard everything from 7500 - 9000. Actually, any tips about my machine would be great.

that would be your biggest mistake, havent truly seen a cat that will run with one comparing apples to apples, get a dynoport high volume pipe and can, dalton clutch kit, run it at 7950 rpm and u will love this sled and the power it make's, not gonna lie to you they r heavier till you put the pipe and can on, then once your on the throttle they r a nice sled to ride, my opinion at least, and I think I'm usually right, but who doesn't, PM me if you want more infoBest tip I can give is get rid of it and buy a cat
I'm with you, there not even really a contender when it comes right down to it, and thats been proven time and time againhave played with it quite a bit, and i have timbersled pods and clutching done..... Seems to pull hardest between 7900 and 8200rpms.... Keep it there and you'll be happy! Enjoy the big girl, and don't worry about m1 attack cuz the stock 1000 summit will kick any stock 1000 cat out there(AND EVEN MOST MODDED ONES, I know from experience)......
Not to sure @ SR's sled but if I get the same set up as mac22 I would be willing to put $100.00 on it.Then I would use the extra cash to make some dvd's, wrap them up and send them to the non believers {doo crew} for Christmas. LMAO.....

Look at what I went and started.
I love it. :d:d:d
Competition!!! Thats why we are here
If it competition you want I can bring Gages 550 RMK when we go, I just wish I still had the o'l Mtn Max just to keep things close.
But as you know I will be bringing My RT Just wish we could actually have some time to visit on the hill I guess if SR and I make enough tracks you should be able to poach your way to the top and we can see each other there, or at the trucks.
Cant wait for the shootout
