bottom end failures happen real quick. if you ever hear one of your buddies or even catch yourself saying (wow is my sled ever working awsome today) start heading for the truck because it is probobly going to blow up.

happened to me before...."man my mxz 380 is really rippin good today....look at me go through all this snow....BANG!" but it did have 8000km lol

found a 03 800 summit for sale, 151 track 1600 km for 4800 bucks. ive heard that this year was bad for blowing motors. some guys say 2000 km max. just wondering if anyone has any input...also do you think its a good deal? looking for a sled with LOW km for under 5000 in northern alberta.

That engine is damn near bullit proof!! I had mine put 4800km on it and the only problem I had was melting recoils!! I put a can on it and that problem was gone. Sold it to someone in Valemount and I can honestly say I miss that sled!! Buddy had an 02 and also no significant problems! I sold mine for 4K btw. Don't pay more than that!:d:beer:

no special tools needed. they are cageless bearings. c clips can be a pain. mabey hone the cylinders and check clearance.lots of assembly graese. torque everything to spec and you will be good.
