2002 honda fourtrax 350 wont rev up

Hello I got an 02 honda fourtrax 350. Just recently it started acting up on me, what is happening is it starts and idles perfect but when i go to give it throttle or drive it it has no power or wont rev up, it runs verry rough when i try to rev it up it pops and wants to dye on me. If i choke it just the right amount in revs up just fine I also had the air filter off and blocked some of the air going into the carb with my hand again if i block the right amount of air it runs perfect. If any one knows what might be causing this problem please let me know.

pull the carb off and take it apart ,theres possibly dirt in the carb,thats what it sounds lik to me.

Ya i took the carb off and ran a hole buch of carb cleaner through it and it fixed the problem so i figured that it was just gummed up
