2002 honda 350 fourtrax wont rev up

Hello I got an 02 honda fourtrax 350. Just recently it started acting up on me, what is happening is it starts and idles perfect but when i go to give it throttle or drive it it has no power or wont rev up, it runs verry rough when i try to rev it up it pops and wants to dye on me. If i choke it just the right amount in revs up just fine I also had the air filter off and blocked some of the air going into the carb with my hand again if i block the right amount of air it runs perfect. If any one knows what might be causing this problem please let me know. I had this posted in the atv section forgot there was a honda section sorry for the re post.

I had the exact same thing happen to my Honda 420. Was with some buddies and we all started up and they took off and I couldn't move. It ran for about 3-5 minutes and all of a sudden it was revving again and seemed to have no problem. All I could think of was that there was dirt or something in the fuel that had to get pushed through...
