2000 triple touring

Can anyone tell why my 600 triple touring is back firing. It runs along just fine and then for no apparent reason I loose power then I have to feather the throttle to get it going. This is when it back fires and then it seems to be ok and runs hard again.

Tighten the throttle cable up switch in the thumb piece is acting up

Thanks trollcat I will try that. Is this a common problem? Also where do I find the switch?

The pin on the thumb throttle inside handle bar control , its a safety if you fall off and the throttle sticks it kills the machine, there should be 1/16 inch play on thumb piece , tighten cable at all three carbs, its common problem
