New to the quading world. Well as an owner played on many others.

Here is my issue bought a used 2000 Grizzly 600
I love it, It is strong its fun etc..

However she seems to really dislike reverse when in reverse she will slip out sometimes and other times she will spit and chug and most of the time stall.

I have found out today as I buried it pretty good that in 4 wheel drive reverse seems to be just fine as soon as i take it out of 4 wheel she spits and chugs and stalls again ...

Any help would be help full a simple fix is of course what I am looking for as no one wants to take their new toy to the shop after owning it a week. Although you have to do what you have to do.

Thanks

As far as i know the grizzlies have a high gear reverse on all of them..
the sliping may be a belt does it act similar in high gear?

Id clean up the clutch system if i was you while your checking the belt out.

there is also atleast on my 660 a rev limiter on reverse ...... the over ride button helps with that ..

Id check to see if the previouse owner did any mods to the over ride setup.
some people were were doing relay mods to make it always on.

So basically
1: check your belt
2:Check the clutch and service it.
3: check the over ride setup.

I say this because if it works fine going forward its something other than the motor. so look at the clutching and the wiring for reverse.

Also for more info on these setups look here

Grizzhopper Grizzly ATV Mods

it tells you how to do the override check if your quad has one.

and yes i realize this is for 660s but i'm sure they used some of the same setups. although i'm not 100% on that.
