the lower mount of the shock is at the top of the ideler wheel the shiney part
2 Tracks, 60miles. What's the cause of this?!

TrollCat - it would appear you're right...My lower mount is flipped around....
Also - Looking at the top mounting point of my rear suspension, it's mounted about 3" higher into the tunnel...Where yours says "flatslide carbs", mine has the rear pivot bolted there....see my pic above...
Anyone with a 98/99 wanna chime in as to placement of that rear mount? Or post a pic?

thats where they mounted , thats correct leave it be, now if your girlfreind can still bottem it out, you need a new shock after you put the shock where it belongs,

This guy Really knows his stuff.
If you put on a longer track but did not change the skid mounts then the rear of the track has too much leverage and it will just compress and bottom out.
Mine's just like trollcat's on the front and dropped a lot farther out on the rear. Also, if your springs are toast they will not rebound, I suspect you need new springs as well on a 10 yr old sled. I put some from an 08 M8 on, they are much stiffer and you will need to change the plastic guides where the long ends of the spring are, because the 08 springs are square (not round). You will also have to move them forward along the rail (means drilling a different hole). Otherwise they slide right on.

well, I'm at 160 miles on this machine, with no stab through to date...
Have the shock in the right spot, and the front limiters at 1/2 way....

I would really recommend a set of anti-stab wheels for sure tho.... They come on a shaft that bolts to the end of the rails, in place of the end caps. Never have another stab.

Jezus man! Lookit the dates on the posts! I sold this sled more than 2 years ago!! And I'm still amazed TROLLCAT was able to diagnose it from the scant info I'd posted...

So, I got stuck under a 13 cat last season. It had no tether and the throttle got stuck. I would guess 6000 rpm for 2 minutes. The clips and paddles went flying and the rails got destroyed. The dealer warrantied it all because they had not provided the updated rail end caps when the recall came out.
