-18 -+60 sounds like you could run into issues on the cold end in most places but in your area you'll be good, up here some of my best days were at the -25 -30 mark but that's also because a lof of people stay out of the mountains when it's cold so the rest of us capitalize, regardless for the weight savings you may as well try it out

ok Ill bite...go with a Yuasa YTZ7S or YTZ10S the ten is a bit bigger but make sure u have booster cabels for the morning if it is real cold....u will only need to boost it in the morning...dont cheap out buy the good brand batt if ur going to do this. I think cr racing sells it all in a kit too.

I have the 9 cell for my 1200 skidoo and it turns over faster than with the stock battery. The 12 cell will not fit, also have 2 of the 4 cell small one for my other turbos and they will run a fan for a long time compared to a lead acid battery.

my stock 06 Apex battery is L=5.98" W=3.46" H=5.78" CCP=160 weight=10-11 lbs
this lithium battery is (12 cell) L=4.40" W=3.38" H=4.05" CCP=410 Weight=2.5 lbs

so as for size it will fit with no problems since it is quite a bit smaller and weights nothing compared to stock and has way over twice the Cold Cranking Amps! the only bad side I see is the -18 temp factor......but with the cold CCA being so high it would probably still start the Apex at -25-30!

Done some research on the battery and in the cold you try the battery to turn over your starter and let it sit for a bit and the heat that is generated inn the battery itself works in its favor. The way i look at it 165 for the battery if it works fine but i have wasted more for less. Worst case a good quad battery. The rating on the battery is more than the stock one. Bught it on Ebay could not find one around home.

try c3 powersports, they have a 1.8lb lithium ion battery with 280 cranking amps. I put it in the freezer for the day and it still would start a 1100 turbo cat. i do not think it will start the sled at minus 15 or lower, but generally guys investing in 250 for a light weight battery have expensive sleds and heated enclosed trailers. i guess it could still leave you hanging. it is small enough to stick down the front of your pants and warm it up if it really matterer!!! lol seriously though you could stick it down the front of your pants its that small.

Well the 12 cell at -25 will not turn it over. The voltage on the battery was only 12.8v also.
