1997 670 made into one hell of a sled.

OK guys heres the thing. I bout this sled with all of the money that i had, Now i had a Chit load for a 14 year old but i also bout a $2600 dirt bike in july. And then when i went on a LITTLE shop trip on the web and end up spending $2000 on that.(holly Chit it was for my dirt bike)LOL So now i still have to pay $1600 to my dad.:d before i can buy things like light weight trailing arms, skis etc,
I would put lots of stuff on if i had the $$$$$$$$$$

Find a cheaper set of skis like Ski Doo's precision 6.9 skis. You should be able to find some take offs for about $100. They work almost as good as Simmons but cost about $400 less and they will bolt right on with no brackets, just a few spacers on the inside of the saddle. If the HAC is gone off your sled (looks like it from the pics) then you need to watch the jetting with those pipes. There are a lot of bolt ons from newer sleds that will work really well and you can often find them really cheap compared to the aftermarket stuff.

I could afford:
to buy my 97 summit 670 and get to go to the mountains and ride it
OR
to buy a newer sled and wash it in my driveway

I got 5 trips to mountains last year and plan to beat that this year! (I don't count local rides)

Plus its cool when you ride with/past a big $$$$ sled on what I call my sled, "old junk". Besides I know I'm not a pro rider so if I have to learn on a harder to ride sled it might help to keep me out of places I really shouldn't be!

KORE I want your footboards.(They look great from here)

thunder guy I can't take it bout= bought? I normally would never correct anyone on spelling but your still in school so it might help LOL

Here's how it sits right now. Widened the footboards, 17" shocks up front, lightweight arms, oil delete, twin pipes, 10" riser and snocross bars. Lightweight hood and windsheild yet to go on.:beer:

do they make turbos for you sled KORE? if they do you should put one on HAHAA:beer:

Good point! they do! Few guys on the site may have experience with them but I hear they wake up something fierce. My stock 670 will likely get boost when the bank account returns to normal.(when im done the rev rebuild.) Ill likely swap/run them both in the rev chassis and rebuild the schassis. But untill then ill enjoy a solid stock motor.

Kore dont think any thing of that last post that i made, I looked at ur last post and you said u had a 1996 O who did u get those lightweight trailing arms from? I have got to get a set for my sled.

Sledobsessed do they make turbos for the 96-97 ski-dooooos?

Turbo 670 its lacking a bit for abot the first 2seconds of squashing the bar then yes the COME ALIVE;)

What do u mean by Turboing a 670 its lacking a bit for about the first 2seconds of squashing the bar? So how much would it cost??????:confused::confused:

That means it takes about two seconds for the turbo to spool up then you'll need duct tape to keep your hands on the handlebars.

There's an old saying about building a 2 stroke turbo that goes like this.......

"If you are not prepared to put a $100 bill between your fingers and light it on fire, then you are not prepared to build a 2 stroke turbo."

Some of the newer EFI sleds (M-series AC's) are a better candidate for turbo's. Your older carbed 670 is not a good candidate for a turbo unless you have a lot of experience setting one up. I might be able to find you some contact info for a guy in Kamloops that had a 670 turbo a few years back. He spent more time changing jets and playing with it then he ever did riding it.

They do work well once setup but many cuts on rotary valve and many sets of pistons later. If you want to do anything reliable with a 670 i recommend a 740 big bore. And now that i went back to the beginning of this thread i see it is already a 740. RIDE IT.LOL

Here i have a 1997 ski-doo summit 670 which has been made in to a 740 union bay. It has some nice after market pats. Like twin pipes,151'' by 2/14 track, seat, hood (It is as black as it gets) And when i bout the sled i got the Price list of ever thing that he put on it. The total was $19,000.

what kind of seat set-up do you have on that? Im looking to build a freestyle seat for mine.
