1996 Polaris Indy 500 L/C

My mom bought a 500 polaris indy oil injected. I just wanted to know what oil to use? I was gonna go with castrol 2 stroke snowmobile oil. thanks.

You could go to Canadian Tire and get some of the Shell 2 stroke oil. Good price and the product work great in that sled. Thing to remember is to use good oil. Synethic may be a bit of overkill for that sled so save some money and buy a good oil. My choice would be the Shell advance non synethic oil.

my 92 Indy 500 has had Polaris 2 stroke since I got it last yr, it has 12,000 miles, never been opened up, sticking to that oil,

It may work good but you can get aftermarket better oil for cheaper.

Just pick a good oil and stick with it. It not a good idea to mix oils mostly non synthetic and synthetic. Buy oil from somewhere that is easy to find like Canadian tire. If you buy oil that is hard to find or that is not sold everywhere it could make you have to cancel a ride , like say on a Sunday after noon when you need oil and the only store that sells that oil is closed.

on the older two stroke sleds the Canadian tire two stroke castrol oil is fine, the newer sleds are much more finicky.
