I was going to get one also but after researching these and the defender for about a year the defender was a better choice for me anyways.
I'm sure you'll be happy with it though!

I'm just cautiously optimistic. The Ranger 900 that gets replaced is getting close to 11000 miles, and it's taken what seems like a lot of repairs to get it there. A couple axle seals, belts, clutches, steering rack, fuel pumps, etc..... The air intake is a very poor design, and I don't know if it was at the dealer, or one of our guys, didn't get one of the tabs back together when cleaning the air filter, and the motor got dusted....bad. It has a pretty bad rattle under acceleration. I really hope Polaris has gotten their design and quality problems worked out, without creating any new ones. Is there anything else out there that offers AC.....besides a fawking Kubota?

Show me any other brands with 11,000 on them

Picked up the new Ranger yesterday, just before closing time. Pretty impressed with it so far. Got 2 years warranty for being a repeat customer.

It performs really well, and the heater is pretty good to a point, but........windshield cracked down the middle, cranks to roll the windows down are flimsy and one broke besides being kind of unhandy, and it seems like the freon all leaked out of the system. Interior is a little noisier than I expected. So far it goes into reverse every time without the occasional grinding like the 900. Had it's first oil change a few weeks ago. It starts up immediately even when the temperature is close to 20 below, unlike the 900.

Hope you are enjoying it. I'm looking to upgrade this summer and interested in the same things.
Still carries the Polaris traits by the sounds of it.. I'm on my 3rd Rzr and its a love/dislike relationship... None of them have ever left me stranded so thats a huge win and as long as you have the stereo cranked you can hide all those howls and growls that come from the drivetrain.. Like you've experienced, you can get a lot of life as long as you stay on top of the R&M.. The 2013 900 XP was the best of the 3..

Agreed. They just need to step their game up a little to have a really good product and pay a little more attention to some quality control issues.

They also made it so it's a little bit of a pain in the ass to check the oil now, because of a heat shield and the box doesn't raise up as far without pulling a pin.

Any updates on your ranger 1000? Thinking about picking one up and coating against the Defender, rangers price is way better and better aftermarket support but a bit worried about reliability.

No reliability issues with a ranger

Had a lot of quirky things with the '18, that they finally got worked out. Clutching, electrical, etc.... Ran it up to ~~7000 miles and traded it several weeks ago for a new '19 1000 Northstar. It seems like it's put together a little better, and no issues so far.
