Just picked up the demo from local dealer , heading out to camp for weekend , looking forward to putting on some miles , looks like we're gonna have new axys , and a couple 850's. Should be fun.

As your well aware, on this site, if there's no video, it didn't happen!! And should you get it on camera, do not cross anothers track as it is like a shot of nitrous, so I've heard!�� and maybe mute the audio on any video's you might post, to avoid the "someone wasn't full throttle or kept letting off" , even if it was just to get the ski's out of the clouds!! Lmao..

youve never cross a track before and gained speed? pretty basic maneuver called poaching...not new stuff here lol. when your riding a asled with as much power as the 850 the skis tend to come up but rather than letting off the throttle you need to learn how to tame the beast by changing your body language. thats all. LOL

I did a few quick measurements and the plastics from a G4 would fit over the new cat pretty close. And your in luck there's actually quite a few G4 sleds with their plastics off waiting for bulkheads. Make sure you practice riding in your secret Allen spots till you get the hang of it. Sleds with 15" tracks are super nimble and react way quicker than the doo your used too.

Hi Maxwell, I didn't have time for proper reply yesterday!
Yes, I've crossed a few tracks while climbing, if it's an old track it will give you a boost, a new track from your group on a back to back climb and snow hasn't set up, not so much. But if it's a 3-4 foot deep trench that the Doo's are notorious for leaving, that is a hinder not a help.. it can be a challenge on its own just to get across them!!

Side note, how's your injury, you back sledding?

Well we had a really good day on the Cat, the non snopro model, 162 track. Visibility was on and off , snow was decent , we really couldn't find a hill that any of the sleds couldn't climb , but the steeper ones were a really good test for them. Creeks and tree areas were deep and challenging. Riders were all similar skills so made it fair all around.
I rode the Cat all day , left my sled at camp, but we traded sleds lots all day on the trail and in the hills. Had the Cat, a 16 XM 174, 2 Axys 163's , and an 850, and I really like all of them.
But this is about the Cat, so :
-we have about 40 kliks of groomed trail, and I loved it on the trail, everyone did. I jumped back and forth on all of them and my rating. , # 1 - cat by a lot, # 2 - 174 Doo, # 3 - G4 , # 4 - Axys
- the bars were a bit to low for everyone on the Cat, and the seat sucks , if you accelerate when sitting the seat is built so you naturally slide off the back, irritating. Runs smooth , awesome bottom end, started first pull almost every time, (after I quit touching the throttle when pulling rope) , nice engagement , overall very impressive, never missed a beat.
Absolutely the best gauge package by a mile, way way better than all the others. We put on 150 ish Kms, I had a buddy can with me but didn't add any fuel ,Cat made it back, albeit on fumes. G4 had to fill , as did 1 Axys, the 16 Doo filled but said he probably would have made it. Super predictable and easy sled to carve, button hook back uphill, didn't submarine when letting off throttle or steep downhills, and the power is very impressive , IMO, the most powerful of the bunch, the closest was the G4 , but the extra 50 cc's are certainly not evident. The G4 is probably easier to carve and turn, but IMO, it's too easy, makes it feel twitchy and kinda unpredictable, the Cat needs a bit more input but in a way it's less work , you're not constantly readjusting and resetting . No hills we couldn't climb but we did run the Cat and G4 sorta side by side up one fairly long climb and , as I saw it, the Cat was gaining ground on the 850, didn't really get to side by side the 174 or Axys's. The Cat power is no joke, it works really really well. I wouldn't bet much on the G4 against the Cat.
The adjustable skid lockout thing is a nice feature, makes a difference for sure, the Doo would really benefit by that.
I've never been a big fan of the XM or the Proclimb, always have preferred the Pro/Axys chassis , but gotta say I like the G4 , best Doo I've ever rode, still like the Axys but the new Cat and G4 IMO are more fun.
If I had to buy one right now it's a no brainer , I'd buy the Cat, it flat out works, equal or more power, stability with predictability and very easy to handle, and , it's impossible to ignore so many negative reports about the G4, gotta be some substance there somewhere, especially noting the announced changes. Truth is the Cat has lots of newness about it also, so,it could see some growing pains to, but this one , flat out worked.
Not saying one is better really, just stating my opinions based on my observations and experiences.
But no way I would say you made a mistake if you buy the Axys, Cat or G4.

One more observation , and i've noted this before , but no way you can ignore or blow this off , its a definite issue with the Doo, no BS , just stopped , both sleds just finished riding exactly same creek , never touched either one , just took the pics.

Decent reveiw Lenny, I also got to ride a 18-162 cat a few pulls this last week as well.. Few things I felt from t3, the mid range was stronger on cat, but steering was different and felt heavier, sled never missed a beat all week, but seamed to be pretty thirsty compared to G4 or t3s.. Wished they had a 174 track for it thou in the deep snow we had.. And I seen him mostly pull it twice to start.. Think the skid lockout feature is real cool and G4 and t3 could also prevail with same feature..

the longer track on t3 with chest deep snow had the advantage, but similar tracks could be a entire different outcome, g4s work well but I also think there pretty flicky for my liking, and ski lift..longer track could be the answer
