Hey Fellas I hope everyone is having an awesome season! Mine has been incredible with some of the best snow I've seen in years. I cant say enough good things about my 18 mountain cat, its been an incredible machine, However I'm about 240 with out gear and I tend to be a little bit rammy so the inevitable has happened and my steering post has broken off. I Spoke with Kurt at Canada Sled Pars but they currently don't make an aftermarket post, just wondering if anyone on here knows of any other option? Thanks in advance!

Can you put a sleeve inside drill some holes and plug weld to double up wall thickness to make stronger.
Option if nothing else.

That's a good idea Snochuck I might give that a go, I was thinking maybe a piece of steel rod that was the same diameter as the inside of the post. Only problem is I filled it with fiberglass resin when the sled was new as I've run into this problem before...

That's exactly what I did when I broke the post on my m8 a couple years ago. Pulled the post on the hill, brought it down to town, and welded it with a piece of pipe inside so I could ride it back out of the drainage it was at the bottom of. Still in one piece today.

You know anyone that can weld? Cut the bottom linkage section off, buy a section of chromoly piping with the same OD, weld them up. I bent mine on my Sidewinder and bought a new factory one, but thats my plan for my old one and keep the factory one as a backup.

I think that's the route I'm going to go, pull the post and reinforce with a piece of tubing, hopefully it will hold up! thanks for all the comments and help.
