200 was getting tired and was tired of feeding it oil and gas. So I decided it was swap time. So out with the sport Jet and in goes a Lexus 4.0L v8 1UZ-FE VVTI with a Scott 812. The motor is old and not many around, but you do the research on it and it’s an impressive motor! One of the most reliable v8 made. And this one is brand new never ran, and is a full marine motor used in Toyota epic ski boats. I am totally redoing the boat. Redoing the bottom with new uhmw and lifting strakes. Changing up the interior big time to make room for the longer motor and more user friendly with more storage. Here’s some pictures of my progress so far. Will update this regularly and follow me on my business Facebook page @NMFP Welding & Marine.

Awesome work, what's the weight difference?

Not sure will have to weigh it once it’s done. I was a dumb azz and never weighed it before I started cutting. But my buddy Andrew that’s helping me here has the exact boat so will weigh his. I am hoping for around 400pounds. I am changing a bunch of interior stuff to so that’s why it’s hard to tell.

This could be a pretty good opportunity going forward. A lot hulls that are in good shape but wore out sj power and pumps. Nice job 👍

My thoughts exactly. And I was prime example. Old sport jet but really like the boat. So I figured I’d perfect the swap on my own boat, figure out the cost and offer it to people. Like I did with impellers

Anything is possible man, with the EFI tech of today, nitrous is a lot safer and easier than it used to be.

Neil, what sort of ECU is required to run the EFI and coil on plug wizardry?

Supercharger would be better than nos imo. Easier to impeller. To run a motor with nos you’ll need a higher pitch, then when you’re not running it it would be a dog because it would have to much pitch. Or the opposite and when you hit the nos it would just spin out.

Didn't Toyota have a TRD supercharger kit for these?
