Need some advice please. I’ve got lots of experience but not with a 162”. My wife and will be riding mostly trails around south and central Alberta. Is the 162” x 2.5” too big for the trails, even with scratchers? Thanks!

The length will frustrate you in low snow they tend to plow forward, shorter is more manuverable but less flotation. How much do you weigh? Groomed trails? 2.5" is definately getting up there in lug unless you have a couple inches of fluff. I personally would not set yourself up to have run scratchers all the time they are kind of a last resort for me.

Thanks for that. I’m 200lbs and everything I’m told says it’s just too long and big.

After 10000 km on groomed trails on a 2016 Viper mtx with 153 x 2.6 power claw...here's my opinion....yamaha 4 stroke...awesome for trails....the mtx setup with low gears, big long track and no sway bar (on cats or yamaha mtn sleds)....sucks for trails. Do yourself a favor and buy a 137 or at most a 141. I am back on a freeride 137 and mxz x for trails....so much happier to be off the yamaha. Kept my 146 summit for occasional forays into the off trail stuff.

My Alberta sleds is high country 800 141x2 1/4 Many days it’s too much for frozen trails. I also have a short track 128x 1” sled. On trails it’s best. Off trail and ditches 141 all day.
