Anyone that rides a 1200 renegade probably loves it, as I do, however, I currently have mine in the shop getting a strange ticking noise in the engine(usually decellerating):rant: checked out. Turns out to be a stretched timing chain. Bombardier says they won't cover it under warranty, what a joke! The machine is a 2009. They claim that the timing chain is a normal wear part, (at 2000 miles! I should hope not) Most people buy the 4 stroke because of the reliability and the claim skidoo makes,"12000 km before any valve adjustments." Just wondering if anyone else has similar difficulties and if bombardier is normally this cheap with their warranty.

but as for the doo try a different dealer maybe. sounds kinda corney to me as well. what is the cost of this repair? is it worth fighting even?

Ya it wouldn't be bad if they didn't have to remove the motor, pull have of it apart...still waiting for the quote. The chain/adjuster is relatively cheap, it's the labour.

That is bs the trick with warranty is the person at the dealer that is dealing with brp. When we had a dealer in burns lake I was amazed at the stuff they could get warranty on. Brian(tukernater) got me warranty on stuff I had no business getting warranty on. One time he got brp to pay for half a short block on my 04 summit that was a year off warranty. I think its bs that many of these dealers love selling you a $1400 machine however they are not to willing to go to bat for there customers when it comes to warranty issues.
