The jist of my point is that myself, you, Danny, Rob or anyone else who jumps off a doo and onto a PRO will need ~3 days of conscious effort before it will cross over from much more difficult to easier.

This may be true for some, but IMO, definitely not a blanket statement...I experienced a huge difference the first day of riding my PRO and have been riding an XP for the last 3 seasons. The only issue I have had with this sled is the narrower boards but that's really more a mental thing than anything, just need to re-train myself on how wide of a stance I can have:)

So we did get in a few days of riding the Pro. Various terrain, various snow. On the trail she can actually rip down it faster on the Pro than I can. haha

On our last day we were blessed by the snow gods and had bottomless powder to get a real feal for the sled. I still hate them :)

Jess on the other hand really likes the RMK. The 800 163 was a little more sled obviously than she needs and I think a 155 600 would be great as she might be able to make more use of the top end more often. I would swap with her throughout the day and she said she didn't like the XP. What she is nuts! haha She deffinetly didn't like the boards but was getting used to them. I can't stand the narrow boards in deep snow.

We will see what the summer brings. There are still lots of riding days left for this winter that she will spend on the 09 XP and we'll go from there.

I'm kind of in the same boat. My girlfriend had an 08 Nytro first, pretty heavy for a girl to ride. I have an 09 XP 154 that she is riding a bit now, but that thing is well ridden (bought a 2012 XP this year) and I'd like to sell the 09 and Nytro and get here a newer model that's easier to handle. She can handle an 800 154 but I'd like to get her to try all the brands to see what she likes, that will have the biggest influence on how much she rides so I'm not fussy as to what she likes.

Not sure if your GF's have other girls to ride with but that might actually help with the confidence/riding ability part...I'm coming to learn more and more this season that the saying it's 10% muscle and 90% mind is pretty accurate!! I've always ridden with my hubby and up until recently barely even knew any other women that rode but the more I get to know other women riders and be around them more, my confidence and desire to push myself has increased HUGE:d
There's definitely lots of girls out there riding big sleds and killing it so there must be something to all of this....

Side note...there's still lots of room in the Revy Ladies Ride this weekend and lots of guys looking for riding partners..haha!!

What ever your wife chooses make sure it has electric start. That was one of the most important things when I found her 09 700 RMK.I never worry about her not starting it after I take off

I rode last weekend in revy, one girl in our group rented a 2012 pro 800 for 2 days then a 2012 summit sp 800 and she said she felt more comfortable on the doo

very good point above. Don't judge your new experience on a Pro by your first ride. It's a wonderfully agile chassis that can be tricky to get the hang of at first. I was upside down A LOT! IMO I think having a light nimble sled only benefit's a female rider. My riding ability and confidence has soared on this chassis. Thank you for thinking of your lady's needs not your own needs for a good back up sled. lol. The 600 155 is awesome! I'm on a 800 155 Pro with an MBRP can and couldn't be happier.
Here is something I wrote recently kind of touching upon this topic.

Good for her but I love mine cause I'm old and now I guess I'm a wimp too.;) I've been reading this thread with interest because I really think we need to upgrade from 2010 RMK 600's to the Pro chassis. The 600 will take most people anywhere they want to go but you do need to ride a 600 differently than an 800.

My girlfriend doesn't have the upper body strength to pull over the 800, the Polaris is already easy to pull over but the 600 is a little easier. The easy button just makes it easier for her as well.

retirepop - I know cycleworks has (or had) a few 600 Pro's still available and with the Spring promo they were willing to move a little more on the pricing as well. Might be a good time to pick one up!

I absolutely LOVE Chuck Norris, and I'm not a wimpy girly girl.. Sometimes the 800s can be a bugger to pull over.. I had an 08 M8 forever.. was a wicked easy start... E start isn't a cop out by any means.. In comparison to the m series of cats, it seems to me I have to pull the rope out a bit further making it a bit of a tougher pull. That being said Chuck doesn't have e start.. but I'd consider it for my next sled. especially now that I'm gaining the gazongas to climb more.. nice to have e start when starting it back up in a sticky situation.
