10.25" battery relocate

An old thread, I used your idea but welded up a little bracket (304 SS) to hold the stock battery - need a can rather then stock exhaust to free up the space. Only needed to drill one small hole in the cast aluminum frame bracket, bottom mount / foot uses a pre-threaded hole, unknown what is intended purpose was from the factory. Don't know if the heat shield is necessary, but not much of an extra weight. Still haven't found a good place for the belt, currently in a tunnel bag.

Nice. Heat shield would be a necessity IMO. Batteries and heat don't mix.

A few sleds ago, I added a start to my alpha. my battery was mounted just like that. I put some foil tape over it and it lasted thousands of kilometers. Definitely like you said they don’t like the heat so you’re gonna want foil tape on that. I do think that location would be OK though as long as you tape it.

Yep, something to bounce the direct heat away will go a long way.
