One person is dead and other people are wounded after a knife attack in a Calgary medical clinic near Centre St. and 16th Ave.
Police officers, paramedics and firefighter were called to 1623 Centre St. N after the stabbing shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to CPS, police received a call this afternoon reporting that somebody came into a medical centre with a weapon. Calgary police said multiple people were stabbed, and one has died on scene.
Stuart Brideaux, with Calgary EMS, said paramedics arrived on scene with police around and assessed two patients.

“One person, an adult, was declared deceased and not transported,” Brideaux said. “We did take a woman believed to be in her mid-50s to the Sheldon Chumir with a minor soft-tissue injury.”
Emma Wong, 54, owns Essential Eyewear on the first floor of the building. She said she heard a commotion upstairs, including the sound of people shouting.
“It got worse, considerably louder, so I went out to look,” Wong said.
Then, Wong said she saw people rushing downtairs and a police officer with a gun running up.
The owners of a bakery and a dim sum restaurant at the bottom of the stairs immediately threw down their security gates, Wong said, afraid they were in danger.
The bakery remained shuttered hours later.
“It’s so scary when something like this happens,” Wong said. “We hear people arguing here a lot so we didn’t think anything of it at first.”
