Found a guy who wants to trade me his quad for my old pickup (I value the truck at 1800)

Says there's under 6500kms on the quad and the only issue is the electric start doesn't work. He said suspension and brakes are all good.

What do you guys think?

I have the same quad except its a 400 Forman. I am told they are very similar. If they are the starter probable only needs brushes. I have done two set on mine and they are easy to change. Sorry I am not up on used value but the quad is the standard for durability. Good luck

That quad is worth more than 1800 I'm pretty sure. You can search kijiji to confirm but Hondas hold they're value pretty good. Probably worth closer to $3k would guess

Ya i searched on AB kijji as well as BC and it seems like they go from 2-3k. Im thinking this one might have engine issues for him to be wanting to trade. That or its stolen lol.

Can a guy call the rcmp to determine whether its stolen or not?

Those 350's are Bullitt proof. Used them for surveying so they got beat up pretty good. Good quad for sure!

Anytime I buy a machine I call AMA to pull the car fax to check for Liens and get vehicle history. There used to be an online way to check vin for stolen vehicles, never hurts to call a local dispatchment to ask how.

If she starts up fine and runs decent I would be pretty comfortable buying. Along with doing the usual other checks (air box, oil level/quality, etc...). You can easily flip it.

Okay thanks for the info. When I asked for the vin he gave me a pic of the shift pattern lol.

Any of you guys know where the vin on these quads is?

Search Vehicles and Property You can try the VIN in here to see if it comes up as stolen. Not sure how often it is updated though.

Thanks for that link. I looked up the vin it says there's no records on it, but I think I'll call an insurance place or the rcs tomorrow just to be sure. The quads not registered either so I can imagine that'll pose a bit of a problem

I bought older dirt bikes before that we're never registered, just went in with insurance and wasn't a problem. Would be a good idea to call ahead with vin ahead of time to make sure.

Not to much of a problem registering it, porter and McMillan on the Hart has a notary working for them. Phone them and make and appointment, there notary is free. .... you are going to have to pay taxes on the amount you claim you paid though at 7 %. Unless you swear you bought the quad before 2010, then that is free too.
