While riding yesterday I heard a something that sounded like a broken chain coming from the clutch side. Stopped immediatly and open clutch side panel and the outer plate that is used to spread the clutch sheaves to change the belt had backed out of the shaft. Threads were damaged but I was able to thread it back in. Anyone else have this happen to them and is there anything else that might have been damaged. I have warranty on it and will be taking it in. Just thought I would ask. Thanks.

If I'm understanding you right your belt adjuster fell out of your secondary. A common problem. Isn't it metal? The 08's were plastic and are junk the 09's I thought were changed to metal. If it isn't damaged the fix is to put it back but this time with loc-tight. Hope that helps!:d:beer:

It is the metal one. The threads did get damaged but I was able to screw it back in. I am hearing that it was common on the 08's but not sure on the 09's.

Mine fell off too. 09/xp you need to use blue loc tite and tighten it back on.

The 09's were plastic junk as well. I did get the metal one....but like someone else has stated....you have to use the blue loc-tite on the threads. This happened to me about a year ago, and I have been good ever since I fixed the problem. Funny thing is the dealer charged me 20 bucks for a new one. My dealership reimbursed me for it though. Good luck.
