My son is looking at purchasing a sled and we have seen quite a few 07 Rev 800's for sale. What are the issues with these sleds we should be aware of? I know there has been issues with the motor but not sure exactly what they are? Also with the front frame (nun) what do you watch for to make sure that it has not been bent? any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Billy Boy:cool:

Doo searches on here and Doo talk, you will find tonnes of info to read.
Track is junk, engine had crank problems for many, not all, clutching problems, relay, I have 20,000 into mine, I got so deeper and deeper trying to make it work. Now, I will say I will take it up against any xp out there.

07's was the first year of the 800R. Ski-doo used the REV platform as a test for the engine and basically used the general public to test it out. They also switched to a trenching track.

IMO, avoid it. That's why I bought an 06, but you make up your own mind. Please do research. There is a reason they are cheaper!!

I ride one and love it!!
I wouldn't let the track thing get you too down, there are 06' tracks out there for cheap, just have to be patient.
If the sled has a new 08' drop in engine and is available in the $7000.00 range, I would be all over it. Like stated earlier, when you get them dialed in, they work aswell or often better than the XP'S for half the price of new!
Buy it and treat it to a DJ clutch kit and don't look back!!:d

Only the x models came with the junk track. If you can find an adrenalin with an updated motor and clutching it will rip.

I'm a little confused here. Just bought a '07 Rev X 800HO, not a 800R. Did half way through the 2007 year did they switch the engine from a 800HO to 800R? How are the '07 800HO's sleds/ engines/ tracks?

Yes they switched mid year. If the 07 has the 800R it is a good sled, otherwise the motor is a ticking timebomb. My buddy just sold his 07 800 adreniline, happy to get rid of it. Nothing but problems since day 1 and it only had about 350 miles on it, almost had to tow it out twice because it wouldn't run. As far as price he got $7200 but that is WAY to much for them. Depending on miles mods etc, $6000-$7500 for a REALLY nice one. I wouldn't go close to one with a 800 that hasen't been touched unless it is cheap enough to do the motor.

When I was shopping for a sled I considered them, but I ended up with a 06 RT1000 162", and 1000x happier.

You got your stuff backwards.

The 800(R) in the 07's was shiat.

The 800 HO was the engine before that and good.

As discussed, they also had clutching issues, track issues, and all the issues with the motors.

Sounds like the Renegade's didnt' get the 800R's, only the Summit's. Therefore the 07 Summits should be approached with caution.

It was the X's that had the track IIRC.
