Do you have that infamous challanger lite Brad? They are a bad track for trenching in pow, but a great track for spring time.
I havn't heard of anyone doing this, How are you liking the skidoo?

The Challenger lite was a track designed for the Ski Doo hillclimb team. Its only purpose was to climb hardpack slopes like Widowmaker and Jackson Hole. Dump it and get a different track. You could try and thin the paddles down, not sure how (maybe disc grinder???? lots of smoke for sure....) but its the rubber compound that is really too hard. Find a used 159" track somewhere and use the Challenger Lite for traction strips on the trailer deck IMO.

Still have the Challanger Lite Trencher on my 159 XRS aswell, i guess i have learned to ride it because i really don't have a problem, i wonder what id be like with a half decent track :p Could i put a 2.5lug challanger extreme without droping and rolling ? or is there not enough room? Drop and roll is probably one of the most involved mods you can do .... maybe this summer ....

Got the same track on my 07'. took a bit of configuring but got it going. Shorten limiter strap, soften shock in the front, and highest setting on back.

if you go down to the 7 tooth drivers you can doo the 2.5 track

Dam !! so you have to drop 2 teeth on the drivers hey ? im pretty sure they are 9 stock. That would kill some top speed and maybe even some track speed... wouldn't be such a bad thing to sling a heavier track though (not much), i think specialty said it was 3lb heavier than the challanger lite.

Heres a good question ... do you drop and roll a stock tunnel .. or do you get yourself an aftermarket tunnel ...

D&R kit +- $600
Tunnel +- $1500 (lighter, stronger, D&Red, and your choice of color :p)

you could always change length then too .. but then youd need track and rails ... ugh... too much money to be spent.

Drop and roll on stocker if you are on a budget, buy the nice one if you can afford it. You don't need an aftermarket tunnel to install a drop and roll. Track speed with smaller drivers could be compensated by gearing.

I changed my track, but I have heard that some people have been cutting 2 spots on each lug down aprox. 0.5 inch. So each lug would kind of turn into three separate lugs, acting kind of like a finger track. Hope I explained that right. If you're throwing it out anyways, you have nothing to lose.
