hey guys im looking at buying a newer sled(summit 800 or 1000) and was told to buy a 2006 summit cause the 2007's had some problems. So im just wondering what the problems were in 2007 and are the 2005's as good as the 2006's or no?

Crank and clutch issues on some 07's - some were great, some not so much. XRS track in 07 sucked in powder.
06 had a 2.25" powder max track - worked very well.
05's work great - I had one in a 151 X pkg - kept up to the 06 and 07's. Watch for reed boot delamination on 04 - 05.
05 used a sliding button secondary, 06's used a roller clutch. Best mod was to scrap both for an A/C or HCX roller secondary.
RT1000's work ok when they worked - lots of issues tuning them though...

05 -ring issue, with a new top end its an awesome sled
06 -hands down the strongest running summit
07 -most had crank and clutching issues. with the 08 motor, great sled

I own an 05 and love it, my buddy has an 06 that would always out pull mine and now he has a few upgrades and i can't touch him, 2 other buddies have 07's 1 XRS and 1 X and they have both blown the motors.

i have an 04 159x 1800 miles new top end, now have 3800 miles 145 compression still, never had a problem, buddy with an 06 144 kicks a**.The best year.
