Hey all, I gots a 2006 Summit 800 HO with kind of a weird issue.... Last year on last trip coming down the switchbacks at Allen Creek, each time I let the throttle off and allowed the clutch to do the braking.... My Oil light comes on... As soon as I get into her again, the light goes off and its normal, cant find any visual indication, nor does the sled run rough or has any intermittent issues... Would like to solve as these 800's aren't cheap to re-do....

How full was your oil tank? Mine would do that all the time if the tank was less than half full, I thought it was just the oil sloshing around tripping the level switch.

Did it when tank was full or half or empty... when ever I increased the rpm even a little the light went out....

My 08' was very sensitive to sloped areas. It was fine when it was full but half way through the day and on steep slopes the light could come on.

Maybe when you are just coasting down the hill, the oil level is in range of the sensor and it senses low oil. When you pin it, the oil sloshes and the sensor is once again in the oil and the light goes out.

It is easy to watch the oil level but it is a bit nerve racking, eh!

Aww I hate it, nothing like looking down and seeing the light flicker, its like a built in Governor or throttle stop, a guy gets scared to push it too much....

IS it your oil light or the (!) light? If it is the (!) light then you have a problem with the little switch on your brake lever and it is nothing at all to worry about.

Yeah I broke the little switch off a few years ago and my light has been on the whole time since. No biggie if that is indeed the problem. With the flickering I would highly suspect this. It kind of makes sense that it would flicker while you were riding through the bumps on a hard packed trail.

It would seem like you have one of those easy cheap fixes (which never happen).

lol ... even if u put on a led rear light makes the ! light on.... doesn't draw enough power and the cluster is some how smart

i've been through just about everything on my rev [ has over 7000 miles on the chassis ] at one point or another ...

also make sureits not just the 2 wires that go to the switch touching

If I remember correctly, the light that comes on is indeed an oil light, as the light looks like an oil jug with a drip of oil coming out of the spout....
