I fired my sled up for the first time this year today. I added gas line antifreeze and octane booster to last years fuel. It fired up right away but was beeping, the odometer was flashing 10-9 i think, and the guage arms were sweeping all over the place. it was idling funny and then once it warmed up the idle settled down and when I gave it some throttle down the back alley it didnt want to rev very high even at full throttle. It would go to about 6000rpm and stay there but didnt sputter or backfire. the beeping, odometer flashing, and guage sweeping continued all day as I tinkered on it. I checked the plugs and noticed they were black so I cleaned them up and tried again to no success. Is the key keeping it in limp mode or is the gas and plugs holding it back? with all the snow we got this weekend here in Edmonton I want this thing running right by next weekend so any help is appreciated guys. also what plugs should I be running? NGK BR9ECS? and what belt is best for 06 800s?

I cleaned the junk out of the DESS tether and noticed there is a metal "snowflake" floating around in the tether where it attaches to the point on the sled. is this normal?

Sounds like it is your tether cord then. That is the contact for the DESS post and it shouldn't be loose. Get your dealer to program you another if you don't have a spare.
