06 700RMK Good/Bad year

I have been out of this for quite awhile, my last sled I bought was an 02 800 rmk, love it. Question is I'm looking for a 700 RMK for my son for christmas and have heard there is some issues with them. Is it just the fuel injected ones? I'm looking for a good used one between $5-$6500. Son wants a dragon but I don't know which one to look for. If anyone can clarify this for me that would be great. Were all the 05,06 and 07 fuel injected?

If I were you I would look at 05 and up 600 RMKs and 07 and up 700s. The 06 is heavy and requires alot of keeping on top of things due to a poor design. At 6500 you should be able to find many options.

2005-600 700 were carburated like the older ones, and the 900 is the iq chassis, with fuel injection. however it has a long rod design which wreck everything.
2006, all models, 6,7,900 all iq chassis and huel injected. the 600 is still a great engine but the 700(755 cc) runs off the same block as the 900. just as unrealiable due to long rod design
2007- 600 700 are good to go and reliable. next year they bring back the 800

2007 600 rmk was still carb! Unless you got the switchback or a lake racer then you had the EFI version.

For that price range, I would shy away from the 05-06 range IQ sleds, lots of changes in chassis design in the 07 year which made them leaps and bounds ahead of the previous years as far as handling and reliability. 07 700 would be the one to look for, granted both the 600 ho and the 700 are extremely reliable and bulletproof, like was mentioned the 700 was EFI that year and would be less tuning. Polaris engines in the 07 model year were major over achievers, he would be happy with either.

Many sleds in the 07 model year for the price you mentioned, I sold my 07 600 3 weeks back for 5k and had a LOT of aftermarket on it, you should have no problem finding something.
