Got skidoos, outlander and yammy bikes. Don't know squat about Yammy quads. I'm thinking about picking up a second one for hubby since I've taken over the one we have.
Came across 05 660 Grizz Ltd Ed. 1800kms, winch, htd grips, skids, storage, plow, itp rims/tires, supertrapp exhaust. Looks in pretty nice shape.

What'd this be worth?
Anything we should look at/for on this year/model?
Any input's great.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Pull the rope, if it looks clean and shiny you know he has never been in water high that the rope.

Look for oil seepage in the differentials (axles, and pinion seals), and where the drive shaft go into the engine. Seals are cheap to replace, but depending on how bad they are, the more water can be let in, resulting in possible internal problems.

Check that the vent hose is attacked to the front and rear diff. If they are off, he might be a slacker when it comes to maintenance, and the diff could be full of water, or worse. Mud.

Grab the wheel and push/pull on it, see how the wheel bearings are. They are not super expensive to fix, but if they all have play you could get him down 200 bucks or so.

I have a 03 660 grizz, they do require more maintenance (seals and bearings are not as good as the probably could be) , but it has NEVER left me sitting in the bush.

Could he have had a tear in a CV boot, letting water and dirt in causing premature wear?

Some 02's, and some early 03's where said to have weaker axles. The axles on the 660 are weaker than they should be, but with 25" or 26" tires you usually wont have any problems.

'03s had the weak axles. For 04 Yamaha went back to the 02 axles and did an unoffical extended warrenty for the 03 axles.
