Friend brought me his 2004 T660 turbo trail sled to work on. At idle the thing starts creeping ahead on its own. Checked and it has the correct belt on the clutches and is idling at the correct RPM. Any other ideas? Would a new belt just be too tight until it gets some wear on it?

Anyone ?

Need to shim the secondary and drop the belt down.

Ok. Thought it looked a little high in the secondary. I will have to ask him if had any work done to the secondary recently. May explain why it never had this issue before.
Thanks!

Don't think it anything to do with the primary. Belt is right at the bottom and not contacting on either side. Just seems too tight to me. Secondary shim makes sense.

If it just had a new belt put on the secondary may have been adjusted for a worn belt.

Tolerances between OEM and aftermarket belts can be enough to do that as well
