Bogger
Bogger of the GBCA
Guess I get to learn how to rebuild a top end..................
didja get the head off to see whats the haps Bogg?
cool man, keep us posted.Nope not yet.... Sitting in Plios truck right now....Going to the brother inlaws garage tomorow and we'll tear it down (my first time) just know there is no compression on the magneto? side (opposite the clutch)....
I will document the process...................
Cheers.....movie time
When you go to take the piston off, seal the case with a rag or something to catch all the needles from the wrist pin bearing. Count them when you get them out, you don't want one in the bottom when you fire it up. I believe there is 28 needles, if I remember correctly. When you put it back together, just put caged bearings back in.
i seem to remember when i did the top end on my 98 I changed the bearings to a caged type....actually they came with the kit. if you need anything bogger, just ask
what town you in?
Let me know if you need anything. Does it still turn over?
It will turn over and we even managed to get it running on the one cylinder but for safety towed it to the pier and trucked it home
They are iron bore so not too bad if you burnt a piston. No need for re-coating at least.
The spark plug was fine and had nothing on it. There was very low compression in that cylinder all of a sudden, and the the sled wouldn't run. That was after riding for a while on lac st anne lake. Have fun with it Bogger, take some pics. Again thanks for the ride and supper last night.
If you need assistance with the cage part I have done it numerous times - can help.
