That part of the story I heard was guys from the states with turbos came up and climbed it and getting the name turbo. I believe they were turbo polaris’s.

I believe Bob Micku (buck lake bob) climbed turbo in the 90’s on a Forumula 583 with a plastic paddle track. I didn’t witness it personally, but I believe it.

Bob is Dave's Brother- Uncle to the TSS boys. Used to run the Ski Doo Dealership in Buck Lake.

Bob is also Cory Micku's (Slednecks) Dad.
Speaking of Cory what ever happened to him? Used to be huge in the sled game but never hear about him anymore?

1996 670 summit was the first stock sled to go over the top at Jackson hole. I still have that on VHS! haha
Mark Thompson. Met him on MTC on the XP project back in 05'. I saw he still was climbing at Jackson Hole this year. His kids are a lot better than him now at his advanced age except for the one that crashed just past the start line this year lol.

Who was Waldy? Revy local?
Yup revy local. Was a rider in the early sled films. Rode for Yamaha for awhile. Super talented and great guy. I will find some pics from back in the day.

Yes I've seen that sign there on Boulder, also used to know a guy who's older brother was killed on Boulder in the '80s and coincidentally had the same name. Might have been Wally though not Waldy. Always wondered if it was a connection or just coincidence.

He’s still riding recreationally, and building 911? big bores and clutch kits for the Gen 4. Actually think he has an ad on kijiji for the big bore kit. Very talented rider, all around good guy and a great ambassador to our sport.
