So I should be looking at maybe a helmet cam that has some different mounting options so that it's not limited to being mounted on just the helmet.. any ideas on brands?

I need help. I am torn. I am thinking of getting the best guy in the world a Christmas present, but I'm a bit stuck. Helmet Cam or hand held cam? And what kind is the best (without breaking the bank). Any help is appreciated!
