Had an amazing weekend for a first timer. Met lots of people, and put faces to names. Loved being able to ride with people with similar machines. Learnt many tips and tricks and cool new accessories I need to buy now. Trail was awesome, food was awesome, beer, prizes, fireworks and...
Thanks Tex. I wasn't sure if I needed the tunnel extension or not. I'm finding it hard to find that exact skid. :( Does anyone like using rail extensions? Especially if I'm only driving it for a few more years?
Hi everyone,
So currently my 2006 Summit 600 SDI has a 144" on it. I do not plan on riding this for the rest of my life, but for at least another 2-3 years. I was thinking of extending the tunnel and the track to a 151" to get a little more traction/flotation. The debate I'm facing though is...

Good news, they had the part in stock. Worked on her today and installed it. Here is praying it doesn't leak. Come on snow gods bring me some snow to test it out. And of course to play in, I'm getting antsy.
Working on my sled getting her ready for the season and found out I was not given the right temperature sensor. Grrr. Must go back, get the right one, wait till it comes in, install, hope for more snow and let her rip. Such an aggravating process when stuff does not work out in your favor. :(
Thanks guys. Tukernator and Tex my hubby is pretty adamant on replacing the sensor first and going from there. So there we will start I guess. There were a couple times when I wasn't on a hard pack trail but still early on in my riding that this occurred so hubby isn't totally convinced it's...
Oh dammit, my bad you are right Bnorth. Just checked my papers. Never seem to remember that.
Tex what is the resticker?
Thanks for all the help, I will give this stuff a try and hope for progress.
Bnorth do you know where the temp sensor is? We have done the drive the sled part way up the sled deck thing and let her idle and coolant level didn't change.
LBZ and Tex 78 so you are basically saying to run the sled without the t stat in, and see if my problem goes away. Didn't think...
I do have ice scratchers but I wasn't using them at the time. Something worth trying. Checked the coolant and it is full. Hubby was thinking possible pump issue but why would it only be a problem at the beginning of the day and not throughout the rest of the day. .The thermostat is brand new...
Woo hoo it's almost that time of year again. Time to figure out an issue from last year though. My 2005 summit 600 sdi will overheat on me down the the trail in the first five minutes of riding and the motor will limit my revs. If I shut it down let it sit for a bit then drive the piss out of...
So totally wish I could have gone to this event in Golden. Damn the hubby and not finding work yet and making finances tight. Oh well, there is always next year.
I ended up buying the Mother's Metal Polish with a polishing cone. With a little bit of some elbow grease she started to sparkle up for me. I did such a good job I guess the husband had to try it too so his sled could look just as good as mine. Thank you for all the suggestions, it really...
If I'm not working that weekend and all my ducks line up in a row (getting down there) I would definitely be in. I will be in revy between Dec 28-Jan 2. Woot woot can't wait, as long as my top end works after the rebuild.
