I would like to thank Kaz Dog on behalf of my group, for all the work you did this year to get the trail system usable.Your work was greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the updates between Alberta Parks and the snowmobile user group. Please keep us posted on updates for the area regarding clean...
Kaz Dogs...sorry I just saw this.....trail groomer first and formost for my group/family.Wife and kids wont go there unless trails are better.Next would be bridges then signage.
How is the road into Forester? We have a F350 4x4 and a 20' enclosed trailer. Are chains needed yet or can we get into the lower parking lot without too much trouble?
Ya,we headed up to Sundre area that weekend and had a great time.Lots of snow up that way.Waist deep in the tree's that weekend. Didn't think I would ever see that in central Alberta.
Looking for somewhere close to Calgary for a quick Saturday afternoon ride to test repairs and was wondering if anyone has been out to McLean Creek or Sibbald trails recently.I know that they were logging Sibbald earlier this winter but are they finished.I also know that the Elbow loop is closed...
If you look at the picture that is posted, look closely at the shale section where the high lighted box is.See the tiny black line, that is the trail.Follow the trail through the picture. If you think it's tough to find on the picture, thats nothing compared to finding the drop zone into the BC side...
Is the road from the parking lot to Elbow loop open and is it being used for logging again this year.I like to take the wife and kids there. There is a nice taboggan hill back in there.Does anybody know?
Kaz Dog.....how was the snow coverage out there since the last two dumps? Also do you think as the area gets more snow through the season that some of the washouts might be passable?Either by using snow to build ramps or just from pain coverage?
So I just want to say a little something and hope I don't tick people off or get too many feathers ruffled.I want to say thank you to you Scott(Kaz Dog) and the newly appointed trail maintenance group for giving a crap about the Catarac/Etherington Creek area.I have to say I am impressed that...
Sure...our group decided not to go out today and it ended up being a beautiful -15 day.Crap, missed that one.The 14th is still up in the air for us,previous plans are set for the late afternoon.Might be stuck now till the 21.Please keep us posted.
Get a general opinion and mabe make the call Thursday. They have already raised the high temp for Saturday to -11.
Any pic's from Sunday and how was the snow coverage?
Valid point calgarysledguy. Does anybody have or can get access to a "tracked" bobcat to help out on the trails? Would we be able to use it? It would be handy to fill up some of those ditches with rocks/dirt/snow.
Count my brother and I in for one of the weekends(most likely the first) and possible both.I am thinking positively here that we will be using our snowmobiles and not quads.I have chain saws, axes, generators, shovels, rakes and access to a 3'x5' sleigh.Keep us/me posted. If the road is ready earlier...
