Go for it you will like it if your a bike guy! The trail isnt a problem unless its icy and if it is you can ride the edges or make your own trail . You always ride good snow on a snow bike, the more bikes the better though. I rode my bike couple seasons with just sleds and no issues keeping up...
Yup exactly word travels fast ! Its wasnt a big deal to get it fixed just a piss off when you send them all your info and pics etc two times and then hear nothing in return
Too Fat ?? Are you a rep for them by chance?? Sounds like something they would say total joke of a company. Im 5'10" 195 lbs,, bought a Large size and the suit is big.. Customer service and quality are crap..
I had a seam give way last season after first ride with my tobe mono suit .. Sent them emails an pics started a claim file no response . this season got the new Canadian reps contact info sent in same pics and old emails from year before opened a claim file same BS no response no returned calls...
Reverse on a snow bike? Ive never felt the need for reverse on any of my bikes maybe to back out of trailer but there so light and easy to hand bomb.. Thumpers all the way lots of torque an response at any rpm
Like others have said must haves
- thermostat
- temp gauge
-engine shroud
- decent light or helmet light
The rest are all creature comforts , seat, hot grips, riser, lights , e-start more hp. I'm on my third season it's been a blast the first 2 seasons rode with sleds only and no problem...
Lots options for a air intake, make a pod up with some 2" i.d. hose and a pre filter sock, thermo bob thermostat is a must to help keep engine temps up, temp gauge, shroud motor in block rads in as needed the rest off the add ons are nice but not needed to get out and ride.. Lots of info on snow...
Seat concepts sell complete seats or you can just buy the cover/foam kit which is much cheaper. Guts racing also does same.. I had a upholstery shop modify one of mine with different foam and cover and was a waiste of time and $$
Ive rode renshaw many times on my snow bike and no issues with fuel. i pack the 3 gal mountain addiction can and my tank on my yz is 2.3 gallons. I have had to borrow alittle fuel before to get down but rarely. Its abit of a long trail ride into renshaw but long as its got some decent snow...
I forgot to mention how much easier it is on your body riding the bikes. I can ride day after day after day on snow bike and not get burnt out and my knees dont ache like after riding sled. Not getting any younger I guess, I almost get lazy on snow bike cause its that much easier then I dont...
4 strokes have way better bottom end torque and grunt like others have said. If you keep engine temps up on the 4 stroke with a thermostat etc and run leaner fuel mapping or a fuel controller you can go longer between oil changes. Ive run my yz450 last 2 seasons on snow about 40 hrs and valves...
I bought a kit ST in 2014 and put it on a newer yz450f.. Never tried one before but new it would be a blast in the trees. Its crazy where you can go and effortless pretty much to ride compared to sled..On the trail the thing is a blast as well as long as theres alittle bit of soft snow the...
Haven't rode with it yet waiting for a good storm to hit.. Seat feels awesome though nice an low an narrow and some decent grip on it. Dont know why yammi/cat puts such a huge couch style heavy seat on a mountain sled. Racing station had a few of them
