Just purchased a 95 polaris sportsman 500 off of brother in law ,he figured he would set the carbs on it he said he only adjusted the two cables on the left side of quad does any one know what the settings for these two cables should be as it has no power at all the way he got it messed up...

If you dont mind being away from home go on line and check out the saskatchewan news papers as i had to resort to that and found lots of oilfeild work still available there still,was driving truck here but it slowed right down and found pipeline work in saskatchewan and the money is better there...
Had both,had the xm in 07 duramax it sucked as it cut out all the time,bought a sirrius radio last fall really like it but they ruined my favorite station as it used to play straight ac/dc but now it plays alot of crap on that station but still enjoy my sirius for its reception
I would pull clutch,sounds as if the clutch is binding ,check out all the bushings where the clutch slides back and forth to close as ive had the same problem on both my polaris rmk 600 and a powder special it turned out to be a worn bushing not letting the clutch to engage properly ,i replaced...
Try out a and c transmission in winterburn had the tranny for my 02 chevy with a 6ltr hopped up done there never had a lick of problems with it since,I find that it works better after they worked on it than it did new from factory,ive been to other rebuilders and found their work to be shabby...
Weisicos are allright ive used them in the past but ive had good luck with polaris pistons also,if your sled is still running 125 psi when warm iwould say just replace the rings and gaskets,but you also mentioned coolant on top head bolts,with 125 psi and leaking head bolts you would probaly get...
piston seized in the cylinder sounds more like carb or injector problems,i have a 99 rmk 600 with well over 7700 miles on it ,disconected oil pump at 5800 miles still runs good ,did compression test on it today still runs 126 psi per side ,id say pretty good for original engine no rebuild...
You can get a k&n filter through napa or a local honda dealer mine cost me $78 but it made a big difference,as for the wifes machine that is smoking ,try to add 250 ml of synthetic 2 cycle oil or 250 ml of tranny fluid to your gas and run it through for one tank of fuel ,mine was doing the same...
