I'm the clown who buys used because I also hate the depreciation on new vehicles. the only vehicle I've ever bought new was a truck in 2007 because I was a sales rep for a manufacturer and they gave you a monthly stipend to drive new (IE less than four years old and it was still a lot of money)...
thanks for the responses .
i can definitely understand purchasing new when you are way out in the back country, that's a hedge on your safety in the mountains
in terms of reliability I've always believed one should purchase vehicles in the last two years of the production run, I would never...
ya .... when you are by yourself the anxiety index is a little higher when you are yanking on the pull cord hoping the engine will rumble to life....
worth it having a new sled.
Hi Lilduke, just wondering, i followed your blog for a while, noticed that you go up the hill solo quite often to meet up with other folks or just checking out the conditions.
don't you ever worry about getting stupid bad stuck by yourself?
thanks
Hello All, just thinking about the sled industry as a whole, nothing brand specific, and also not just regarding this forum, i like to bump around and view threads from other forums like :
hardcoresledder
arcticchat
dootalk
amsnow
there are others...
I see threads with people claiming to...
Skidoo has unfortunately realized that 50% of sledders are morons who hammer the gas two seconds after the sled has started and not warmed up .... and also don't take in to consideration all the bearings and other linkage on a snowmobile ...it might be a good idea to spend five minutes going...
I had a great time today south of Drayton Valley near the Brazeau dam ... it was awesome snow,.... i would upload a couple of pics but i'm doing something wrong and i can't figure out how to upload a picture...it should be straight forward but it isn't.
Enjoy your new ride and hold on tight when that turbo kicks in! You won't be getting stuck anytime this year in the prairies... (unless we get 3 feet of fresh sometime in the future which i do not see happening)
i purchased an m8 based on engine reliability reputation from this and other forums on the net, acknowledging it is an out of date chassis.
so far so good, I am pleased with the machine, and would recommend it to you.
if you like trail riding fast (ie 50 mph) don't get a 153 mountain track...
Hello All,
Just surfing around youtube tonight and came across a russian (i think?) sled... it has 10HP so i don't think it will be pulling the big highmarks, but the best things are the liquor storage and the stick shift...WOW .... we really doo have it good in this country...get it...
