I went up the NSR, I live on the NSR not far downstream, so I launch at home.
The north fork road bridge is only a km or less up from the confluence of the ram and NSR anyway.
Ya I've seen my fair few damaged boats from the ram, hopefully nobody got hurt.
I used to go a couple times a year up...
Are you going to retro fit that into an existing sportjet boat? If you are I think your on a profitable business adventure, if you can make it affordable, and with the cost of new boats that's pretty easy
Ya, I know, I have no way to balance or anything afterwards but I am careful with what I'm doing. Haven't caused any damage yet, in 16yrs. I know what you mean about sharp vs smooth, mostly need no dings and it will work fine.
I'll get ahold of you next time I need one done, I usually use...
FYI, I have a 6.2 DI with a 212. with a freshly rebuilt or new 3.4 I get 4050rpm WOT and it will not spin out on a WOT launch, however you pickup gravel once or twice and that impeller will spin out on a WOT launch until you take it out and at least sharpen the leading edge again.
My...
In west central alberta you can run the north saskatchewan, brazeau, clearwater, red deer, ram(kind of)...... I think thats about it. I've done all of those with my 6.2DI/212 in a firefish hammerhead 19'6" x 7'wide
Rode Frisbee Sat/Sun, snow was getting really setup and trails where smooth but froze rock hard. Kids had a blast, and Frisbee is real good terrain for them.
Finally made it happen last weekend, 3 generations on the mountain and everyone had a lot of fun! My boys are 9 and 11 and each put over 100km on there sleds each day, they sure did sleep good! We went to Frisbee ridge, my father and I went there for the first time 27 years ago.
Thanks Chris,
I had to use a relay on my viper due to the tether I got was the opposite normal than the sled required. The one on the apex matched up so I wasn't using one, I guess I should have thought about the amps through the tether. I will try the relay if I have any problems I will try...
Looking for knowledge on how a magnetic switch works? I bought 2 Arctic Cat magnetic tethers a few years ago and installed on my Yamaha viper and Yamaha apex. The Viper has worked flawless since day one. The Apex one has given be problems 3 times now. They end up stuck in a open or closed...
Hmmmm, I think I've been up most of the common chutes with anything from a Apex, Nytro, Nypex, Viper, Vipex... still haven't run a winder up a chute, rode Randys a few times. Its really hard to say what climbs best though, so much depends on setup, suspension and horsepower. The biggest...
I rode all those places in the 90's and into the 2000's and the most snow you'll ever see is 2-3'. Hardly anyone knew what good snow was then, only a few guys used to talk about going to BC. I've also seen more avalanches in the eastern slopes than BC ten fold so tread lightly.
Sorry, I was typing when dragonweld replied.
I think your in the wheel house, you shouldn't need to gear up. I had a apex motor that pulled 85ish mph track speeds though. So, depends on how your winder is running I guess.
I don't have any sidewinder experience, but I do have a lot of miles on boosted Yammys. So take this with a grain of salt, but what I recommend is to jiffy mark your drive clutch and see if you should change gearing and in what direction.
So once on the hill in a good open area so your not...
