Yes, I think thats the one he means...the one Alex built and said it could be used in an emergency, then locked it tighter than a drum...
I have rode to it a few times, but cannot spot the cabin on google earth, my buddy may have it on his gps...
I sent the numbers for Eagles staging to your...
Just a quick note....was at Queest for the first time this week. The cabin coordinates are wrong.
Maybe 2 cabins????? I think the posted ones that someone gave you are for a parking area by the look of it on google earth.
The right numbers are: N50.985671, W118.881691
or, N50...
Thanks for putting this together....got your file, much appreciated.
I would love an updated one when your done. If you want a track from the cabin to turbo on boulder, let me know. I have a number of waypoints on the way, including superbowl, sugar, spots to head up to get out ect.
Ya awesome Idea. Email your file to journey_1000@hotmail.com if you can.
Also, your Sydney may be suspect...punched it into google earth and could not see a cabin, I know you mentioned it was a guess...or the cabin went in after the sat photo..LOL...probably not. (I SEE ITS BEEN...
Renshaw Cabin: N 53 28.332 W 119 58.242

The other ones for McBride are in the staging and GPS exchange area that Snow and MUD has set up on this forum. These posts should really be in the GPS exchange area that has been running almost since the...
For one, the handle bar shaft is hollow unless the last owner had a solid piece of steel welded in. I would have that done right away if it has not been done. Rolled mine almost at Turtle (Revy) and it snapped the steering bar in two. Pete at the sled shed told me this is common. He welded a...
In the flying business we used Pireps all the time (Pilot Reports) pilot to pilot, pilot to ATC and pilot to FSS stations for everything from weather enroute to turbulence. The weather experts relied on pilots for updated info.
I know this is snowmobiling, but same idea. You cannot be...
The Smokey Bear is an awesome place to stay! They have trailers stay all winter, from other sledders and guys that work around the area. (Best call well in advance to make sure he has room) Depending on the time of year you are going, you can normally ride from there. Right now there is no snow...
Re: Quarts creek
Power, we see your new here and are only on your 2nd post...The Moderators and Admin have clearly stated they did not want the post to go in the direction your going. Your post is after their statements.
You obviously have inside information on the sled and the rider....thats...
Re: Quarts creek
Thanks to all that have hopefully made me a safer rider for your input on this thread. Have a safe season all. 1975 is the last year for no Avalanche fatalities in Canada.
Lets make 2009/2010 season another!
I think Ron deleted the original thread because of some mistaken identity and a dealer's name coming to the surface (in error according to the dealer) as being involved with the rider. I think it was only right to stop any possible harm to his rep as it is know he is a very good and trustworthy...
Re: Quarts creek
If you know this guy personally, can you explain to him the basics of riding above stuck sledders when highmarking? Maybe let him know how this can kill someone....I know it probably was unintentional, and he may even be a good guy....but a little advise and education is good...
Re: Quarts creek
I think you hit the nail on the head!!! I basically said the same, maybe not the best place to play. The fellow who's brother was caught sounded like he's had an avy course and he described it as a scary place to ride....knew it was dangerous. He read the hill and sort of knew...
Re: Quarts creek
Wow....Glad no one was hurt or worse. Sounds like there where a few mistakes. Based on your knowlege of the hill (above), maybe it was not a good area to play.....But I agree, the guy on the Nytro needs someone to explain a few basics. Also, we have all gone to help buddies...
