    Slider/hifax wear

Scratchers will really help no matter what type of sliders you run. They will help your sled run cooler also. I was very dissapointed when I changed sliders for the first time on my 98RMK. The stock ones lasted well over 8500 miles and were not worn through yet. The replacement set from...

    Slider/hifax wear

First off, I have had bad luck with aftermarket sliders. Cycle Works sells their own sliders that they have extruded and I have not had much luck running them. They may work better if you can temper them. We make sure that we get genuine Polaris sliders now and even then you have to break them...

Random Camp Spot Closed In West Country

We like to go random camping and practise a "cleaner when we leave than when we got there policy". It makes me mad when I see people abusing the wilderness. I have spoken to many young campers about why it is importand to keep a clean campsite. If we do not self police these areas then they will...

    avalanche fatalitys..Golden Feb 19

My condolences to the family and friends of those that perished. It makes me very sad to hear about this accident. I almost perished a few years ago after a wreck at the top of a mountain. If it were not for some great guys (that I did not know other than sledding with them for an hour) who...

    2001 dodge diesel

Could be a few things. Dirty rad, dirty air filter, dirty intercooler or clutch fan not working properly...those are some easy things to check. Check the water pump as mentioned. Check the rad cap to see if it is holding pressure and then pressure test the coolant system. Sometimes the rad cap...

    Homebuilt 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

That is what I did. We put the camper on the flat deck 5th wheel and haul toys behind it. Tons of room for everything we bring to the bush. Support the front of the camper if your trailer rides rough or after some miles the front can start to break off.

    Guides in Golden

Those are good things to find out about for sure. Are there many guides in Golden with all of those qualifications? Hopefully more guides will upgrade their knowledge and equipment to make safety one of the most importand issues when sledding in the alpine. I understand all too well about the...

    2010 550 RMK Track Switch?

Does it have a 136 track with a 1 3/4 inch track? If not, that is about all I would put on that machine. The engine will not develope enough torque to spin much more track than that without some mods. If it is struggling in deepeer powder I would try a few cheap mods first to see if it helps...

    security devices

Master Lock Python Steel Cable Lock. Get a couple of them and join them with a big lock if you need more than 6 feet of cable. Might slow thieves down so you can catch them and deter them...

    Makeover!

That sucks! I hate it when things like that happen. I wonder what caused the failure? I sure hope that your luck improves! Very sad to see this happen to your latest creation.

    05 700 rmk Sputters

Is it running too hot? One of my machines was sputtering anI thought it was a power valve sticking. It turned out that it was running hot and going into a stutter mode as we were on some icey trails. I put the scratchers down and no more stuttering. Your 05 probably has this safegaurd built into...

GMC motor swap 350 to 454

How is your swap going? Do you need any parts? I may have some things you may want for your swap.

GMC motor swap 350 to 454

I have done quite a few engine swaps and yes it can be done. I have an 85 GMC 4x4 with a 454 in it. This truck came with a 350 700R4 transmission. A big block rad is one of the first things you want to install after installing the larger engine. The 454 eventually fried the factory 700R4 (with...

    Guides in Golden

Try getting a hold of Luke Burley. He has done a lot of guiding in that area for many different groups of people. He is an excellent sledder and a really nice guy!

Clutch troubles on a 92 500 polaris my 12 year old sons sled

I have an extra clutch removal tool (brand new) if you are interested in purchasing one. I am not sure if it will work with the bolt broken off in the crank though. I have tried many broken bolt extractors over the years. Some times you need all of them because each type does the job slightly...

    Brass Balls

That guy is not near the rider that Ghost rider is. More like dumb luck that he did not crash. I hate seeing videos where guys do this stuff in heavy traffic or traffic at all for that matter. I agree that rider is definately an idiot. He would never be a good racer at the track based on what I...

    Surgery was a success

If I were you I would try to go for a couple of therapy sessions after the 6 week mark. You should be able to go for a few sessions for free (at least that is the case in Strathcona County). They will teach you what excercises to do to help your condition. Good luck healing up!

    Surgery was a success

Moving it will probably help, but don't stress it for awhile. What did your doctor tell you about therapy? By May you should be able to do many of the things you used to do, but keep in mind you sure as heck don't want to break it again! So be carefull! :)

    Beer Question

Nothing better than a cold Red Stripe with a spicey pattie or Jerk chicken. Some places on the beach sold them for 150J but you could buy a case at the supermarket for a better price...but who wants to go shopping when you are in paridise!

    Can you see me now???

The Chatter lodge owns or owned a Hummer on tracks. The drive in an out to the lodge with that machine was a dreaded event from what the guys were telling me. I have seen it stuck on the trail a few times and also broken down a few times. They told me that it was rough, noisey and that it was a...
