I ditched the stock VGT a few months ago on my 6.7 for a Silver Bullet 66 turbo. When I started the truck after the manifold and turbo swap I could not believe how it uncorked my engine. I had no idea how restrictive the stock turbo was until the swap. The truck gained around 10% better fuel...
You are doing the right thing IMO. Pretend you are making payments on a new unit and keep saving your money till you find the right trailer for your needs/wants. New toys are always pretty cool, but you may find something used that will cost you a lot less than a new unit.
I am still looking...
You could change the chain case oil. Grease the suspension and the speedo drive bearing. Grease it after every weekend ride and it will last a lot longer. Check the water pump/oil injection belt and replace it if it looks stretched or worn. Check for mice nests in the air box before you start...
I agree. The 39mm Keihins work well on the 600. I changed out the pilots for ones 2 sizes smaller than stock and dropped the needles 2 clicks. When we took it to the mountains I changed the jets from 180s to 160s. My setup worked well for WOT running. If you let someone ride it that does not...
Thank you for some help finding these shocks. Bruce was friendly and very helpful. It seems that no one has these in stock in Edmonton based on my searching so far...2 to 3 days shipped out of Vancouver. Price is a bit higher than what I have found on line here in Edmonton. If I have to order...
I have to agree with you on this one. The new Ford F150 with the Ecoboost turbo V6 is one of the best offerings out of all the heavy half ton pickups. No manufacturer is even close to building a similar truck. It has more torque and hp than some of their V8s. The truck performs a lot better on...
Does anyone know where to find the best deal on some Bilstein 5100 (part number 24-185776) shocks in the Edmonton area? Called a few local places and they gave me the run around.
Post some pics. I owned one and wonder if it was my old one? They were sure a lot of fun. They were a pretty big bang for your buck at the time.
I used to love cat walking it through the gears. Mine did 110 kms an hour in first gear. It was still pulling hard in top gear and I found my self...
I have the AD150 in my 08 RAM and have helped install a few of the same units into a few other trucks. My main reason for this install was to make service and replacing the filters easier. The benefits were better fuel filtration, better water seperation, different choices of filters, air...
Sounds and looks like you had quite a bad wreck! It sucks when you can not get a good sleep when you are hurt that bad. When I broke ribs out sledding it took about 3 months before I could sleep properly. Hopefully you will heal up sooner! Did the doctors pin your clavicle? That can be one of...
Maybe you can find some ujoints with grease zerks so you can service them. I know that it was quite some time before aftermarket greaseable ujoints were available for my 08 Ram...maybe by now there are some good ones for your Ford.
I would also recommend to anyone with a 4x4 to bring enough...
My experience with front shafts has been about the same on trucks that do not have locking hubs. If it is spinning all the time it will wear out plain and simple. The main problem is that many (if not all) factory front shafts have no provision to service them...ie No Grease Zerks! When I...
Make sure you lock up your toys and gaurd them well. There are some criminals out there that like to shop for quads and bikes without paying! We lost a few machines to the thieves out there...even when they were chained up. Cops seem to know who is doing it but won't pursue them.
The oil companys will benefit greatly with this kind of legislation. They make fertilizer from oil that would be used to help crops grow. In my mind's eye it is like the cat chasing it's tail. Take oil, make fertilizer, grow crops to make oil (not all fuel crops are to make ethanol)...something...
I sure hope that you do not have any wrecks...because those injuries are still green. Excercise is a big key to helping you heal properly, but over doing things too early can set you back in the healing process. Speaking from experience unfortunately.
Stay safe and hopefully you will enjoy your...
If the bulbs were burnt out then most likely the voltage regulator has failed. The bulbs blow from too much voltage going to them. The aftermarket ones I have used seem to hold up better than the stock ones we have tried.
