I agree sign up folks, If only a few sign up the course will be canceled (was in Regina). So now there are 6 persons going to the mountains without training. All because of not enough $$$. Seems there's a price tag on life.
Those prices on the Fusions was for 05 models right out of the crate. Anniversary units also. Cannot be had anymore though as that special was on last year. This year the prices at this particular dealer are higher on used sleds. Must of got a heck of a deal from Polaris to unload excess...
My RMK is a 151" track and I ride flat land and mountains. No issues at all. Do not know temps but I can hold my hand tightly on the belt after a hard run and can touch the clutch surfaces no problem. That would equate to about 120 F or so as 130 F most people would find that temp too painfull...
Please explain how shimming effects clutch balance. Shimming is for the purpose of setting the side clearance of the belt to the clutch unless I have missed something?? I set mine to about .020" using the Ulimax XS belt. Shims look like thin washers.
As far as Ultimax XS belts go. Myself (800...
You should be able to find your belt here.
As far as shimming. Unless your after every once of performance don't waist your time. I doubt you can even tell the difference. As belts wear over time it changes any way. I did shim my clutch as I had it off anyway for a routine overhaul. I would...
Do yourself a favor. Try a Ultimax XS and work it as hard as you can. After you stop smiling let us all know how happy you are. Trust me. Just try it and forget about belt issues. As long as your clutches are aligned properly you will be sold.
My 78 TX 340 did not have any boggies at all and I never replaced the hyfax in 6 years and many many miles of riding. It did have a cleated track though so allowed snow to get on cleats easily.
I am trying to understand why manufacturers put boggies on rear suspensions. I am considering taking all 6 of mine off my sled and saving about 9 lbs including the mounts. New deep snow sleds do not use them these days to save weight and when I consider how much the boggies actually support the...
I am looking for feedback on installing a single SLP pipe on this sled and was wondering if anyone has installed this pipe on a 2002 to 2005 800 RMK. Slp claims 11 hp with stock silencer ( I will be using an MBRP race can). Will I notice the difference and be glad I spent the $480 plus clutching...
When I find a product that is a cut above the rest I love to share my find. I tryed an Ultimax XP belt in my 2002 800 RMK for a season and it performed fantastic. Ride hard and the belt did not get hot. Clutches ran cooler (Touch test) and I have never failed a belt in 2 seasons. After 500 or...
I can only assume since this is a 2009 that you have not riden the machine yet. Try er first and then decide. The Polaris 800 engine is a rocket I am told.
I have been dealing with a tire shop that deals with every type and size of tire imaginable for a number of years now. They install thousands each year of many brands. (private, commercial and industrial). I have a 2000 Yukon that has Michelin LTX's on it and even though they are 85% worn out I...
Remember this sled is for hard hitting, high flying, hit me with your best shot riding. Not designed to climb high...designed to fly high and not break. The Pro X of mountain sleds. The first mountain cross over. It will take a good rider to avoid getting stuck likely.
Just looking for real life feedback on the XP chassis. I am looking for responses from real life experiences so I can better understand the XP chassis. I for one would rather own a sled that will take what I give it without having to hold back for fear of breaking something. My gut feeling is...
Just wondering how many folks had structural failures with the XP's last season. BRP claims they made them stronger along with lighter. I have heard reports of sleds literally buckling tunnels. I would like to know what structural issues others have had if any and whether or not you felt the...
