I just took a look around and, yah Polaris did drop the outlaw's for 2012, which used the KTM motor so maybe there done with the partnership. That sucks.
I bet I end up sidehilling for more like 5-10 miles on some days. There is a lot more to sledding than just sidehilling but for me its a huge part of the fun. Sometimes I ride on the nice snowy sidebank of the trail for miles, beats pounding down the icy centre and you can catch some sweet...
Yah. I noticed when looking over the sled after I bought it. Both the bushing block at the front left corner and the one for the steering post seem to have more play then they need to. My sled only has 220 miles on it and when I noticed the play in the bars I started poking around and all the...
Thanks for the feedback guys. So I guess PAR's claims of 150 rpm increase seems true. Anybody got theroies of why this is because I would have ususally agreed with others that have said you should not see a performance increase from a can just weight savings but doesn't seem to be the case here.
Hey guys
Just stumbled across a bit of debate over this in the 119hp prank thread. HAHA. Got me thinking. I bought a 12 Pro and it has the HPS can on it. I won't get out until Thurs so no idea how it runs yet but going by there website PAR claims an increase of 150 rpm. Now originally I thought...
I can't find any of my pics but here are a couple from the inter-web. Started on a passed down 1979 Arctic Cat Jag 3000 when I was 5. Gotta love suzuki engines.
For my 10th birthday a 1986 Polaris Indy 400 upgraded with a 136" x 1" snocross track.
Hi Guys. I've been trying to find a more affordable option than VP for race gas. Had noticed that AFD Petroleum Ltd offers race fuels under the label AFD Fury. I phoned them today and the prices were very reasonable especially for a 5 gal pail. From the Edmonton retail store "Fury 108"...
Haha. How random is that. I've got a week off starting Nov. 26th so I'll probably head out to Sicamous on the 28th or 29th and stay through too Dec.2nd. I spend a lot of days just trying to tag along with other groups cause none of my friends ride and I do shift work. You guys were the most...
Hey my names Chris. I met a group of young guys from Olds last year in Queest Sicamous and rode with them for the day. I was riding an old Polaris Edge. These guys were real good ch!t and we had a great ride day but I had to take off early and forgot to grab there #'s. Just happened to...
Hey Man. I saw in one of your posts that you had a TOBE jacket for sale. You still got it and if so can you send me some pics to sledhead84@hotmail.com? Thanks
We've reluctantly decided to wait a couple more weeks. We've got a trailer with us so driving up the trail wasn't going to work anyways. I like for Nov long to be the first ride too but I've got to work the next 3 weekends after this one, thats why we were trying a week early. Oh well I'll just...
Hey Guys. A couple of buddies and I were going to try riding quartz on Sat, but now I'm not sure that there is even a way to get up there. Looking at Golden's forecast seems like it should be snowing nicely up top but with +10 and rain in town will there be any snow at the staging area and if...
12 and 13 windshields are exactly the same except 13's got more color options. I've got a black one on my 12 retro that I would like to trade you for your white one but Mamma got in there before me, fair and square. If she doesn't take it PM me.
A compression rating is the cylinder volume when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke vs the volume when it is at the top of its stroke. I believe the stock compression is 12:1, meaning there is twelve times the amount of space above the piston when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke...
My search has come to an awesome end. I bought a 2012 Polaris Pro RMK Retro 163 yesterday. It only has 220 miles and a few go fast goodies. Super clean and now I am just playing the waiting game with that stubborn b**ch, Mother Nature. Snow in Sept is definately asking too much but riding by the...
Thanks for the reply polarisdragon800. I thought the chassis's were identical. I think I'd be better off finding a Pro rmk and upgrading the shocks rather than switching the A-arms and putting a powder track on the Assault. I'm sure after 1 season I'd be choked if I didn't just buy the 163 from...
Sorry Darrel D I'm only interested in the pro chassis. I'm still looking around for an Assault. There are a couple for sale in BC but higher mileage than I'd like, one is only $8500 but 3900 miles. I'd like to buy a 2012 since the price difference is less than $1000. I know the 12's came...
Thanks for the info E-Zmoke. A 3" 155 would be a wheely monster in the deep. Your right that would suit my riding style to a tee. I won't have the moola for a track and belt drive this year but ride it for a season and maybe next. I've found a super low mile 2012 Assault that I'm gonna try...
This would be a way easier decision if it were prostitutes, just look for the one with the least amount of miles. Haha.
Yesterday I said 2012 Pro Rmk 163 final answer, now today I'm leaning back towards an Assault (even before I read your post Bnorth, thanks for the input). I'm always in...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I didn't try the 600 at the demo but I wish I would of I've heard they are very impressive. Looking at last nights post a 30' drop is probably a bit of a fishing story maybe more like 20-25' and I doubt I'll ever have the skill or balls to pull off more than...
