We were there on sunday the old trail was in the best shape I have seen it in 5 years. There was no ice at the switch backs. It was a good trip up and down. We made it all the way past avalanche valley and only found the odd little stump.
sounds like moisture in the connection. if you clean it and dry it with some switch contact cleaner and stuff it with dielectric grease untill it flows out I won't be a problem any more. The computer has the air sensor in it as well so if you move be carefull where you put it.
Lots of people use ski jackets it's all about what feels right for you. As for helmets I use a motor bike helmet and it works awsome. Here's the one I use.
