im not running the bikeman kit but i am running the SLP (ceramic pipe, y pipe, can, clutching and PCV). it is a huge difference over stock. top end power is much better and you can feel an increase in the bottom end too. also drops 20lbs over stock so that help a lot too. very happy with it.
i have a 2012 m8 153. i broke the sled in for 150 km in the mountains and then it was boosted, anywhere from 8-12lbs boost. i now have around 1600km on the original belt. all i have done is proper clutching and good venting. LOVE my sled, wouldnt want anything else
i dont think it is much higher, if any from stock. its because the headlight is deleted and everything moved down that it makes the bars look so much taller.
PM JustBoostIt on here. he is the owner of White Knuckle Motorsports here in Lloydminster. They are also the Canadian dealer of EVO parts so i assume they do a lot of these swaps to handle the power.
i have a few guys running the BMP can. they sound very good but they are very loud and i found i got sick of it after a day of riding. im running the full SLP exhaust and it sounds very nice. not obnoxiously loud but it is a higher pitched sound, almost a tad tinny but that could be the complete...
with my old setup i had it cut out the top right of the hood:
on my new setup it comes out the dash of my carbon hood:
both setups were piped into the stock airbox, siliconed and then the air temp sensor was relocated into the airbox.
is your hot start switch switch accidently in the wrong condition? this will cause the motor to flood right out and not build fuel pressure as its all going through the injectors. fought with mine for days and it was just the damn switch.
SLP hands down. i didnt notice it being that much harder to turn. on trail they hold corners much better and they dart less. every aspect of deep snow ability with them is far superior. flotation is much better, keeps the front from diving. i found it was easier to get up on edge and easier to...
originally had a CPC stage 2 2871 turbo with cold air intake but it turns out i hate chutes and want to play in the trees a lot more...lol. so i ditched the turbo and went with a complete ceramic SLP exhaust setup, power commander 5, different clutching w/ adj weights, carbon fiber hood with...
your HP is limited by your octane and fuel delivery. they way you get that HP doesnt really matter. high comp/ low boost, low comp/higher boost, either way you will be at the same HP number in the end. i run 10-12lbs all day on straight av with a pump cut head and 2 secondary injectors.
sounds like a very rewarding challenge if it works! props to you as i dont have the time nor smarts to do that. look forward to some pictures, good luck!
mine is a 2012 but ive been boosted since the first ride. around 1100km on 10-12lbs of boost, original belt, CPC stage 2 with 2871 turbo. toasted one piston/cyl and the head (rushed install to blame, not manufacture) and replaced the reeds is all ive done. do a search on me and you can find...
here is mine. 2012 m800 153.
-2.5'' challenger extreme
-ovs wheelie kit
-stage 2 cutler turbo with custom exhaust and divorced waste gate
-tunnel replaced with black limited and full powdercoating
i also took the bolt out of mine. its been rolled, crashed, smashed into the trees and that seat has not even thought of coming off. 800km without it coming off.
thats an OVS wheelie kit. allows you to make you skid a coupling skid. allows for 6 points of transfer depending on your needs. cheap and effective, made my sled into an uncontrollable wheelie machine to fully controllable on climbs.
