    Backcountry Sledders make CBC News....Again

What is important about my post, JMCX is that there are a lot of people out there that don't know they should report incidents and there is likely just as large of a group that know but choose not to - from all of the specified groups that use the backcountry. I honestly don't see the benefit...

    Backcountry Sledders make CBC News....Again

I would definitely lean towards too optimistic...I think there may be a lot more incidents that are going unreported ~ I know of one large one last weekend that would have gone unreported all together had someone not made a very public inquiry about whether or not it had been reported to the CAC.

    Backcountry Sledders make CBC News....Again

According to the CAC's Incident Report Database there have been 5 fatalities due to skiing of one form or another (backcountry and mechanized) and 3 due to sledding. Up until March 6, there had only been 1 sledding fatality in Canada; according to the CAC and we have seen 3 Special Avalanche...

    Backcountry Sledders make CBC News....Again

What upsets me is the CBC has attempted to make it appear as though the story is about the skiers that perished today near Nelson while the backdrop behind Peter Mansbridge is of snowmobilers. I think it is actually a total disrespect to those skiers, their families and their friends to...

    More ammunition for the resistance

With all do respect to everyone that has posted on this thread; it is so easy to get wrapped up in the emotion, we sometimes lose sight of the real issues. It is a fact of life that bureaucracy is what makes the world go round. To make a ridiculously large scale comparison; would we see the...

    More ammunition for the resistance

We all know what a hypocrite Wiegele is...now you can see it too!! For a guy that hates sledders and all that we stand for, all that we do (including building and maintaining trail systems), he sure doesn't have a problem using those trails when he needs/wants to.

    Organic Grocery Delivery

I have friends that use Spud and love it! She was saying that for their family of 4, they spend about $100 - $130/week for their veggies, fruits and specialty stuff like coconut milk, oil and other stuff. And they've seen their grocery bill actually go down because they are only buying what...

Where can I get ast1 in revelstoke?

The Field session is a full day and the classroom is a full day as well; and as Ferniesnow mentioned, cost for the course usually ranges between $300 -$400...pretty inexpensive when you consider what you're wagering if you don't have it...ie: your life :) Check with Zacs or Hangfire or any of...

Where can I get ast1 in revelstoke?

Good to hear that you and your riding group recognize the need for some education :) With a group the size of yours, there's a good chance that any of the companies offering courses will put on a special course just for you guys. Zacs Tracs offers snowmobiler specific courses; Lori and Randy...

Gots to say, I grew up in BC and at one point in my life could definitely have been described as one of those^^ but that is definitely the first time I've ever heard of a 'leaf licker'...LMAO!! My quick 2 cents on the topic...there are always going to be individuals in any community that are...

A great avy video to learn from

Speaking from experience here, Himark, there isn't enough strength in 100 men that would have been able to 'keep the calm' with that 'hysterical wife'. If the day ever comes that you lose your spouse in a tragic and sudden way, maybe you'll understand...my hope is that you never have to...
