As per the original post. I have a set and they work good but if you want to drive around a gravel driveway they do spread apart when trying to turn. There is an upgraded version that has more support that probably is better. I have the cheap ones though and set up 2 very short ratchet straps...
Those 146 sleds appear to be slipping belts in the primary from the high heat shown in the video I saw. The longer, lower geared sleds seem fine so this indicates to me that it is a position in the sheaves that might be a problem related to clutching. At 60 kmph on the short sled the belt will...
Sled brand/model and setup can make a huge difference in confidence and when you feel confident you just go harder and do things you couldn't do before. Labeling yourself as the worst rider is giving up. You should at lease aim for "most improved" through this season as that can be obtainable...
The gauge is pretty integrated with the sled so either it woould work just for gps/buddy tracking or it would continue to pop codes all over the screen and drive you nuts. The antenna and a battery would need mounting/wiring too.
I no longer believe this. Our area is very quiet and if the trail is bad before the snow it will be bad with snow. We have tried to ride easy and it makes no difference, Maybe you can make a trail worse by roosting on the throttle but you can also spin in strategic locations to fill water...
For brand reliability it often comes down to maintenance and how hard you ride. I have had 2 skidoo motors go down and 1 Polaris motor. All going back as far as 2003. Have not had any issues since 2015.
The sleds are better now and I know what to look for and find stuff that might fail fail...
Well, even a Ski-doo guy would understand that the dealer involved here is not fixing the actual problem when replacing the motor. If the oil pump is broken they could install 100 motors and get the same results. These motors are not going down like this normally. Clutches may be a different...
