you are correct, the signage is very poor up there, but it is only after you start to drop down the west side of the divide you can play around. i think a couple km back when you first hit the park bdy there is a sign on the trail, but it has been so long since i looked at it i'm not sure how...
Pretty positive that looks like Fording in the last 2 pictures.... DO NOT PLAY HERE. It is out of bounds. You can't play anywhere untill you drop down into the BC side.
If that isn't Fording, I apologize in advance.
you guys should check out the cataract thread, pretty poor conditions at the moment if you are just riding trails. better than nothing i guess, but i've got more on my lawn than there is out there.
Well, we made it over, but getting there was a challenge. All 4 creeks are still open and the Trails on the AB side are horrible. They have anywhere from 4inches of snow, to bare rock or just grass. The +7 temp out there today on the AB side didn't help things either.
The nasty shear rock climb...
There, I started a thread for everybody to argue back and forth when Cataract is open to snowmobiles without posting it in the thread were we had condition info.
Ok, so we are going down this road again.....
First of all, your snowmobile conditions report says it is not open for the 2011/2012 season until Dec. 1st, so it is a whole year out of date. Likley these things don't change from year to year, however everytime i have been out there and the...
That would be the first of 4 creeks. If that one is open, it is for sure the other 3 will be open too. All 4 were still open when we went out a couple weeks ago too. I would love to know what is on the other side, but it looks like it may need to wait another week yet...
If you are looking for a big gas engine, you could try to get what i'm running, I've got a '05 2500HD Sierra with a 8.1L engine. I've certainly got no problems pulling anything, but it can't get the milage some of the other guys on here have been talking about. I ran it from Calgary to Regina...
Just a reminder that there are NO quads allowed on the trails at Cataract / Etherington. This goes for all 12 months of the year.
It seemed as though this was a surprise to the guys we informed on the trails on quads on Sunday, so I just wanted to put it out there.
Well, we saw Daves comments but still held out hope for better results if we went further west.... it didn't get any better.
We did make significant progess with cleaning up the trail by chopping up 6 logs that crossed the trail and we removed lots of rocks, but the snow cover just wasn't...
